RIP
It As a driver-based RIP, Roland COLORIP™ (RCR) can print
directly from your favorite graphic programs. RCR provides full access to a spectrum
of print settings directly from your design application. An integrated help guide
visually walks you through printing, cutting and color workflows. It is compatible
with several popular operating systems, including Windows® 2000 and XP. You can
send files to RCR from your applications or import EPS, JPEG, PDF 1.4, TIFF, DCS
2.0 and PS files. Print
It Printing is as simple as selecting your Roland printer
from the printer menu. RCR is fully compatible with Adobe PostScript® 3 to smooth
file compatibility and handle complex files and gradients. Robust layout controls
include automatic and manual cropping, nesting and tiling. You can tile a job
automatically or manually, or crop and image right in the RIP to fit a specific
size requirement. RCR lets you nest multiple jobs to maximize media usage, and
step & repeat allows you to efficiently layout multiple page documents. A label-printing
feature allows you to automatically attach notes including RIP settings to your
work, creating more consistent results over multiple print runs. Cut
It RCR makes it incredibly easy to contour cut graphics with
your SOLJET Pro II or CAMMJET Pro II. Quickly produce window signs, decals, labels,
point of purchase displays and packaging prototypes. Printing and cutting operations
can be handled simultaneously from within Adobe Illustrator® 8/9/10, CorelDRAW®
9/10/11 and Quark XPress™ 4/5. Built-in online help within COLORIP walks you through
the process of creating your contour cutting data. You can also take advantage
of Roland's revolutionary Quadralign feature for your print/laminate/cut workflows.
Easy Configuration Included in Roland
COLORIP, an Imaging Configuration option lets you set up your printer quickly
and easily. Just select the media type and quality, and you’re ready to print.
It automatically determines the best dot size, dot combination, positioning, tone
curve and amount of ink. In addition to saving time, Imaging Configuration will
cut down on wasted material used for test prints and provide consistent results
from media to media. Advanced COLOR MANAGEMENT
For the color connoisseur, RCR provides all the latest tools. Built-in ICC
profiles pre-calibrated for Roland ink and media make RCR the perfect partner
for the Roland Pro II line of inkjet printers and printer/cutters. At the same
time, RCR gives users tremendous control over color. With support of
all popular color devices, you can easily re-linearize existing ICC profiles.
Used in tandem with any ICC compliant profiling software and advanced ink controls,
you can build your own custom profiles with superior controls for maximizing color
gamut and reducing ink consumption. Separate color rendering intents
(CRDs) can be applied to different elements of a PostScript document. You can
apply perceptual, saturation, relative or absolute colorimetric CRDs to different
elements of a PostScript file. You can apply perceptual, saturation, relative
or absolute CRDs to CMYK or RGB elements. RCR also features user-controlled
spot color replacement for quick and precise control of custom colors without
re-opening the original document. Colors can be adjusted for more precise matching,
or completely changed to any other color on the spectrum. Replacement colors can
be defined by RGB, CMYK, Lab or individual ink channels, and an on-screen colorimeter
instantly shows you how your replacement color fits within the selected color
gamut. You can also organize your custom colors into an unlimited number of custom
color databases. Imagine the savings of wasted time and prints! |
