Print/Cut
Advantage

The SC-545EX streamlines the production process by automatically contour
cutting printed graphics. By eliminating the need to reload and reposition
graphics, the SC-545EX's integrated cutters save time and effort.
V Technology
With
the advent of V Technology, Roland has re-engineered its award winning
SOLJET wide-format line and made it even better. V Technology combines
several hardware and software refinements that boost production speed
while allowing you to print and die-cut complex graphics with greater
ease and precision than ever before. Together, these upgrades add
up to the utmost in printing, cutting, ink, media and RIP technology,
and make the SOLJET PRO II V Series ideal for all manner of advanced
wide-format applications.
Quadralign™
For laminating graphics, simply remove prints, laminate and reload
them for precision cutting. The Quadralign four-point optical registration
system automatically realigns the cutting path and compensates for
skew and distortion. The SC-545EX can also function as a stand-alone
vinyl cutter.
Advanced Eco-SOL INK

Roland Eco-SOL INK is formulated especially for SOLJET and VersaCAMM™
inkjets. It yields outdoor durable graphics on both coated and uncoated
materials without any need for special ventilation or environmental
equipment. The advanced solvent ink comes in 220ml no-mess cartridges
of CMYK + LcLm. It is both safe to use and virtually odor free.
Great Print Quality

The SC-545EX precisely controls droplet placement in both the print
head travel and paper feed directions to provide true 1440 x 1440
dpi resolution in Artistic Mode. It uses a digital servomotor to control
the media and features Piezo print heads.
Variable droplet technology uses micro-precise ink droplets of three
different sizes depending on the type of output. This state-of-the-art
technology delivers truly breathtaking output with beautifully smooth,
dot-free tones even at high speed.
To further ensure the highest print quality, VersaWorks supports industry
standard ICC profiles. In addition, VersaWorks comes with several
Roland media profiles and is compatible with profiles created through
standard profiling packages. An updated list of profiles can be accessed
through the Roland@NET service.
Reliability

The PRO II V is a bulletproof production machine. With regular maintenance,
it provides years of trouble-free service. But, unlike most inkjets
that require daily maintenance, the PRO II V gets serviced significantly
less often. The PRO II V’s ink system features a motor-driven elevator
that automatically adjusts to print head height. It has wipers that
clean two heads at a time and flush the ink on each pass.
Bundled Software

VersaWorks is a powerful software RIP developed exclusively for Roland
inkjets. VersaWorks features an efficient GUI operation that allows
you to take full advantage of a wide variety of layout, edit and print
functions such as nesting, tiling and auto/manual-layout, among others.
These features combine with an advanced color management system to
ensure the highest overall levels of performance. In addition, VersaWorks
offers the ability to preview jobs on screen, reducing ink and media
consumption. It features network support for both Windows and Mac
users and simplifies printing by offering two job queues for different
print conditions. Users can automatically update VersaWorks through
the Internet, ensuring that they have the latest version and ICC profiles
available. VersaWorks is built upon the genuine Adobe® PostScript®
3™ engine and is compatible with Windows 2000/XP.
Network Connection

Equipped with a standard 100 BASE-TX/10 BASE-T interface, the PRO
II V Series connects seamlessly to office networks with a data transmission
rate of 1.1 Mb/sec. This makes it easy to configure a highly efficient
printing environment.
Eco-SOL Media

Eco-SOL Media is developed especially for Roland Eco-SOL INK, which
is used by VersaCAMM™ and SOLJET inkjets. It includes a wide selection
of competitively priced, uncoated adhesive-backed vinyls and other
popular substrates. The line-up currently consists of glossy, matte,
clear and translucent calendered, premium cast vinyl, premium reflective
vinyl, view-through vinyl, flame retardant scrim banner, blockout
scrim banner and solvent glossy paper.
Roland also offers an additional 20 materials that optimize SOLJET
and VersaCAMM™ print quality. They include heat transfer material,
backlit film, matte artist canvas and a high-quality matte paper in
its SCM, PQM, PGM, PCM and VSM media line-ups.
Blazing Print Speed

In addition to printing fine art reproductions, the PRO II V Series
can produce 450 x 360 dpi signs and POP displays at 315 sqft/hr. With
one-inch-wide print heads that employ 360 nozzles each, the PRO II
V prints large 30-sqft banners in only 6 minutes. The chart below
illustrates the various print modes, resolution settings, and the
resulting production capacity in square feet per hour.

Quality Assurance

We build reliable, high-performance products and back them up with
first-rate customer service and a wide variety of supplies and accessories.
All Roland media is carefully tested and profiled to consistently
achieve high-quality results. Choose from 13 banner materials, 21
adhesive-backed vinyls, seven papers, four films, and six fine art
materials.
Pragmatic Color Matching
Roland offers a chip chart for easy color matching. Simply download
the chart, print it with the correct settings on the media you plan
to use and have your customer choose the color they desire from the
chart. Take the color value from that selected color and modify the
color value in the original file to match. Export that file to the
Versaworks™ RIP and print. Now that color will match the chip that
your customer selected.

1. Check for incorrect colors on the test print.
2. Select the final colors from the color chip chart.
3. Enter color-corrected swatch information into the file. |
