FEBRUARY IS A GREAT MONTH IN SCHOOLS

Groundhog DayGroundhog Day is celebrated every year on February 2nd in both the United States and Canada. The folklore states that on February 2nd if a groundhog emerges from his hole and fails to see his shadow, he will leave his burrow – signifying that winter will end soon. Chinese New YearChinese New Year or ‘Spring Festival’ traditionally begins on the first day of the year on the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th. The Chinese New Year is the second New Moon after the Winter Solstice. Each year is designated by one of twelve animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Hare/Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.
